A beach bag that packs itself

Five terry pieces, one small bag, and a whole day at the water without a change of plan.
The trick to a good beach morning is not packing more. It is packing things that already know how to be two things at once — a tee that doubles as a cover-up, joggers that survive the walk back through the sand.
Terry does most of the work. It takes water without sulking, dries in the sun while the kids eat lunch, and looks better slightly rumpled than it does folded.
We keep one bag by the door. Tee, joggers, hoodie for the wind, a button down for whatever the evening turns into. Everything else is optional.
